부사는 문장에서 필수요소가 아니기 때문에 말을 할 때나 글을 쓸 때 대게 잘 안 쓰게됩니다.

부사를 쓰면 문장의 의미가 풍부해질 뿐만 아니라 문맥도 자연스러워지는데요, 저는 부사를 쓸 수 있는 문장은 언제나 쓰는 게 낫다고 생각합니다. 

 

오늘 포스팅에서는 의미는 이미 알고 있었지만 막상 활용을 안 해보았던 부사 위주로 공부해보겠습니다. 

 

 

 

definitely 확실히

It's definitely better.

It's definitely lighter.

That's definitely fake.

 

 

 

surprisingly 의외로 

It's surprisingly expensive. 안 비쌀 줄 알았는데 의외로 비쌀 때

It was surprisingly very crowded. 의외로 사람이 많더라

He was surprisingly sensitive. 그는 의외로 꽤 예민하시더라고요

It turned out surprisingly well. 의외로 결과가 좋았다

 

 

 

carefully 조심스럽게, 꼼꼼히, 자세히, 잘

I read through the instructions very carefully many times.

I carefully asked him how old he was.

I carefully asked her if she was married.

 

 

 

 

carefully와 비슷하나 발음이 어려워서 잘 안 쓰는,

thoroughly 꼼꼼하고, 세심하게, 신경 써서

carefully
쓰임 : 비교적 제대로 안 했을 때, 나에게 오는 나쁜 상황을 피하기 위해서 '조심스럽게' 하는 느낌

thoroughly
쓰임 : 더 좋게 만들기 위해서 '꼼꼼하고 세심하게 신경 써서' 하는 느낌

He thoroughly went over every single detail during the meeting.

During the meeting, the boss went through every single detail very thorougly.

 

💡 형용사 thorough도 자주 쓰입니다. 

do a thorough job
"Wow, they did a real thorough job."

 

 

 

noticeably 눈에 띄게, 확 티 나게

Her condition got noticeably better over time.

This is noticeably thinner and lighter than the last version.

 

 

 

understandably 충분히 그럴만하게도

My sister was in a car accident a few days age. It's nothing serious.

No one got hurt. But she's only been driving for a few months, so she's understandably still quite shaken up by it.

혹자는 동의하지 않을 수도 있을 때 사용합니다.
조건 : 일반적으로 사람들이 알고 있고 의견을 가질 수 있는 것에 쓰입니다. 
         따라서 우리 집에 있는 나만 알고 있는 신발에 대해서는 쓰일 수 없습니다. 

She was arguably one of the best singers in the 1980's.

Parallel parking is arguably the hardest driving skill to master.

 

 

 

patiently / anxiously / eagerly

patiently 꾹 참고 얌전히 / anxiously '초조한' 마음으로 간절히 / eagerly '긍정적으로' 바라는 마음

We're patiently waiting for some good news.
